"Till the day I let you go, Until we say our next hello, Its not Goodbye...."
Ink On.....
“Practically it was a Thursday night but
technically it was a Friday morning. You can say that for me the Friday started
early or rather put it this way, that the Thursday lasted for long. The
brown colored watch on the pale yellow wall showed 5 in the morning, the time
appeared to me as horrible as the color combination I described above.
Well, in
our country by that time most of the sane beings get well equipped to proceed
with their daily chores but I was still struggling with the past days backlog
and was burning the mid night oil to get done with the Sales presentation
I was supposed to present in the Fridays Global Team Call. After interacting 5
hours with the laptop and sacrificing similar proportion of sleep, I realized
that what I have created is something you can call as a “State of the Art”
piece. Though I am not that self- obsessed guy but at that time the
self-obsession was at its peak and I was admiring myself as if I created
something which is no less than the creation of Sir Leonardo Da Vinci and later
the obsession came to a halt when various muscles of my eyes pulled me down and
forced me to see the watch again. This time I liked the color combination but
the time had me drooled.. God, It was 6 AM! I rushed to the washroom and got
my-self ready for the call. It was supposed to start at 7 AM. Well, that’s
actually a drawback of working with alien countries, as due to time zone
differences there day starts before yours.
Don’t know why but today for the first
time I wanted that call to happen, as I realized that I have put in a lot of
effort and most important is the sleep which I have foregone for accomplishing
that task. So I was all set to have an earphone to earphone (Conference Call
through live meeting) with those South Asian beings and I picked my cell phone
to dial the organization’s conferencing number. I was in the conference bridge
and waited for other people to join and then after 5 minutes I got a call from
my Demigod (Manager), he sounded sort of renewed and said “brother..the
presentation is cancelled..the sales folks are not joining. So let’s schedule
it for next Friday”.
Now, though I belong to a civilized
society and I am supposed to be decent and composed, but after continuously
gazing your laptop screen (even when it is not something worth gazing like some
“damsel”) for 5 hours and going against the biological clock to suppress my
beloved sleep, how am I supposed to act decent, I felt like gargling all the
raw terms with additional exponential value. Then somehow I buckle up myself to
be happy and act cheerful for the day we all (who have the privilege of 5 days
working) desperately wait for (even more than the meeting with our beaus &
belle’s).
So all armed for another Friday, I trudged
for the Metro Station. I tried to appear as perfect as I can. To share one
thing with you all, I always try taking the coach next to the girls coach for
all “good reasons” ;). First- it helps you in reaffirming the fact that God is
really a stud as far as his creation of female clan is concerned, such a
pious/pure being he created and then the Second benefit is- If you are single
and have looks which are endorsing you might get lucky in attracting some attention.
Though, it’s more than a year since I
broke off with a girl (we are still friends and we are in touch, we commit that
we don’t call or message but we end up doing the opposite) who was all true to
me and I was all fabricated in the same proportion, it is only me who is
reaffirming again and again that God is a stud but he is not kind enough to
endorse me with another accidental attraction, like it happened few years back.
So, I simply put my I-Pod on and started listening my recent favorite number and
what came out of the earphones were something like this “Well someday love
is going to lead you back to me, But till it does I'll have an empty heart, So
I'll just have to believe, Somewhere out there you're thinking' of me” while
the lyrics were lugging me in the past, I started cursing myself for losing
such a relationship, that song acted like a drop of fuel in the empty tank
which resulted in igniting something which I left behind during my sojourn to
achieve something. Though I see her every day taking the same route, we
exchange glances and greetings but never felt something like this in the recent
past. Today also, once the metro crossed 2-3 stations and reached Rajouri
Garden station, I saw her boarding the metro, she looked at me but that glance was different
from the usual ones, today it was all questions on her face, for
the first time in several months she came to the coach I was sitting in, she
sat next to me and asked about the things in my life. Though I was not, but I
tried to portray myself as composed and content. She asked “We commit and We
forget, We forget and We forgive” Why we do this?..tell me? I was about half in
love with her by the time we sat down. And with this question I was back in
love again. That's the thing about girls. Every time they do or say something
pretty... you fall half in love with them, and then you never know where the
hell you are.
Then she asked again.."tell
me.." “I found myself sitting in the hot seat and felt if I said anything
wrong I will loose a crore. I simply said- “Till the day I let you go, Until we say
our next hello, its not goodbye, Till I see you again, I'll be right here
remembering when, And if time is on our side, There will be no tears to cry on
down the road, There is one thing I can't deny, its not goodbye,
I saw her face turning red and with tear
in her eyes she left the seat. I don’t know where it’s going to take us but
all I can say it was a "Beautiful Friday"…A Pinch of red..A Tinge of Blue..I think, I am..still loving you….
Ink OFF..till I get here again..on a new Friday...."Friday Blogger"
